Students Selecting Their Lecturers

Students in some colleges now have the right to choose their own teachers, which has been considered a kind of education reform and a hot issue as well.

Students will take the teachers working experience, teaching methods, teaching style and even their physical appearance into consideration. With the advent of choosing teachers automatically, we have to face a problem that the real effectiveness the course they take. What are the reasons for it? In the following paragraphs, Ill venture to explore the reasons. To start with, as its entirely up to the students tastes, the advantage is that students may be very interested in the course because of the teacher they choose. Due to the immaturity of the students, their focus of choosing a teacher is doubtable. If they Just focus on the teachers appearance instead of teaching process, maybe, they would be distracted from studying.

Moreover, since the right of choosing teacher is at students disposal, it will push the teachers to prepare their course more carefully; however, some teachers may think of other ways to attract students, such as, paying much attention to entertaining the students simply with jokes and games instead of imparting them with skills and knowledge.

In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures should be taken. For one thing, it is high time that people all over China realized the importance of choosing teacher automatically. For another, people must try to eliminate the disadvantage of it; after all, to help the students improve themselves is our real and final aim.
